Workshop
Method - Delivery:-Preparation: Open wall space (4'x 8') visible to all, plenty of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" half sheets or 5x7 cards, magic markers, adhesive material (rolled masking tape) for each card/sheet to go up on wall, example cards "WRITE BIG, LIKE THIS" and "3-5 WORDS".
Context - setting the stage: Why are we here?, Highlight the focus question, Explain product/outcome, Outline process sequence and timing.
Brainstorm - generate new ideas: Individually write 5-? answers (allow ample time); Select your strongest ? ideas and use a magic marker to write them, one idea to a card, preferably 3-5 words (make example cards-stress large readable letters-put up on wall as demonstration);
Collection: 1st - Hand in your favorite (facilitator reads each aloud, clarify if needed, paste); 2nd - Hand in most different idea; Next; the rest.
Organize - forming new relationships: Put up 8-10 cards with symbols ( i.e. +,!,*, %,#,?,@,&,etc.) as column heads. Place ideas under symbols, creating columns as you go (with the group's input). Check brainstorming lists and end result for missing critical ideas.
Name - discerning the consensus: Discern focus of each column; Discuss for clarity and insights; Name the cluster ( 2-3 words, Ask to include action word, adjective and noun)
Reflect - confirming the resolve: What did you notice about the process? What do you notice about the information?
